Real Housewives’ Producers Shoot Palm Beach Pilot on ‘Snowbirds’ with Sharon Bush and Libbie Mugrabi’s Mother
Palm Beach is about to receive a touch of Bravo’s signature glamour with the production of a new reality show pilot, tentatively titled “Snowbirds.”
Produced by Purveyors of Pop, the team behind hits like “The Real Housewives of Miami” and “Married to Medicine,” the show promises to deliver a fresh take on the network’s reality programming.
As the name suggests, “Snowbirds” will follow the lives of New Yorkers who escape the harsh winters of the Northeast for the balmy temperatures of the Sun Belt during the colder months. However, sources indicate that while the show shares some similarities with Bravo’s other offerings, it is not a typical “Housewives” series. Instead, it’s described as a reality version of “Palm Royale,” the AppleTV+ comedy starring Kristen Wiig, Carol Burnett, and Ricky Martin.
The cast for “Snowbirds” is shaping up to be an eclectic mix of Palm Beach’s social elite and well-known personalities. Among those confirmed are Sharon Bush, former wife of Neil Bush and mother of Lauren Bush; Cindy Guyer, a romance-novel cover model; Anna Rothschild, a society publicist and occasional guest on “Real Housewives of New York City”; entrepreneur Gale Brophy; Jane Scher, mother of socialite Libbie Mugrabi; and Palm Beach socialites Guy Clark and Harrison Morgan. While “RHONY” playboy Harry Dubin might appear, he is not officially part of the cast.
Sources suggest that the production is already experiencing some behind-the-scenes drama despite Bravo not picking up the show. Initially, there were reports that the show would focus on Clark and Morgan and a collection of “random” women discovered by the production team. However, insiders have clarified that the show will be more of an ensemble piece rather than centred on any single individual.
The prospective cast members are set to start filming in Palm Beach this weekend, hoping that Bravo will greenlight the series. Meanwhile, Scher is reportedly eager to have her daughter, Mugrabi, join the cast to enhance the show’s drama, but it appears Mugrabi will not be participating.
