US rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Miami Beach overnight Thursday for trespassing and disorderly intoxication, records indicated.
The artist, known as Jacques Berman Webster II, was taken into custody around 1:00 am following a verbal altercation with individuals on a yacht at Miami Beach Marina, according to the arrest report. He returned later, disturbing marina occupants and causing a public disturbance.
Scott admitted to police that he had been drinking, attributing his behaviour to the Miami environment, as stated in the police report.
Initially responding to a dispute on a yacht, law enforcement instructed the 33-year-old to leave, which he complied with initially. However, he later returned, leading to his arrest for disturbing the peace and disorderly intoxication.
Scott’s album “Utopia” was nominated for Best Rap Album at the recent Grammy Awards. Beyond music, he has partnered with Nike, Epic Games, and McDonald’s for various merchandise and promotional ventures.
