Raheem Sterling has delivered a clear message to Arsenal and Chelsea fans after completing a surprising loan switch between the two Premier League rivals.
The 29-year-old winger will spend the remainder of the 2024-25 season on loan at Arsenal following his exclusion from Chelsea’s plans under manager Enzo Maresca.
Maresca had privately and publicly informed Sterling that he no longer had a future at Stamford Bridge, leaving Sterling with just a few days to secure a new club.
Despite a tense deadline day, Sterling managed to finalise a late move across London to join Arsenal, which is aiming for its first Premier League title since 2004.
In a video shared on Arsenal’s social media, Sterling addressed the situation directly: “People like to talk, don’t they? Well, so do I. And I’ll say you’re about to see the best of me.”
He expressed his excitement about the move, calling it “an unbelievable feeling” and describing Arsenal as “a perfect fit.”
The best is yet to come.

Sterling also highlighted the sense of unity and ambition he observed at Arsenal under manager Mikel Arteta, saying he was eager to be part of the team’s journey.
Since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022 for £50 million, Sterling has made 81 appearances and scored 19 goals. Chelsea confirmed his loan departure with a brief statement wishing him luck at Arsenal.
The move surprised many, including former Premier League star Michael Brown, who believes Sterling can thrive at Arsenal despite his recent struggles at Chelsea. Brown noted Sterling’s experience in winning titles and predicted he would make a positive impact at Arsenal.
Sterling’s move to Arsenal also reunites him with Arteta, with whom he had a strong relationship during their time at Manchester City. Arteta praised Sterling, recalling their time together and expressing confidence in his abilities.
Although Sterling will miss Arsenal’s upcoming match against Brighton due to the late timing of his transfer, he is expected to be introduced to the home fans before the game.
