Prince William is reportedly frustrated with his uncle, Prince Andrew, and wants him to “vanish from public view” following new allegations against the Duke of York.
The fresh controversy emerged in a memoir that accuses Andrew of inappropriate behavior during an encounter with a female masseuse at Buckingham Palace in 2000.
The Duke of York, 65, has been accused of acting “inappropriately” towards Monique Giannelloni, a former masseuse who claimed Ghislaine Maxwell invited her to Buckingham Palace. The masseuse alleged that Maxwell had arranged the meeting and claimed she had a high-profile client “more famous than God.”
Upon arriving at the palace, Giannelloni realized that Maxwell’s reference was to Prince Andrew. In her memoir, the masseuse alleged that the Duke disrobed and removed his towel before climbing onto the massage table.
“He did not do anything or suggest anything untoward, but I was very uncomfortable and a bit shocked that he had acted like that,” Giannelloni wrote.
She added that she “expected more” from a senior royal, stating that the incident left her feeling unimpressed.
Giannelloni, a well-known masseuse in the UK at the time, had worked with high-profile clients, including David Schwimmer and Michael Flatley.
In her book, she also claimed that Maxwell had attempted to recruit her for what she now believes were Jeffrey Epstein’s notorious boat parties.
“Andrew’s reputation has been sullied by his friendships with those two people,” Giannelloni said, referring to Epstein and Maxwell.
“It was Andrew’s choice to be friends with those individuals, Ghislaine and Epstein, and somehow, I ended up in their world because of my work,” she added.
Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that Prince William is increasingly frustrated by Andrew’s embarrassment upon the royal family.
“This is yet another national and royal embarrassment for all,” Fordwich said. “Prince William wants his uncle Andrew to vanish from public view.”
Fordwich further claimed that King Charles III is equally exasperated with Andrew and has publicly distanced himself from his brother to ensure the disgraced Duke does not appear with senior members of the royal family.
Royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner supported this view, explaining that William is unlikely to welcome Andrew back into the royal fold.
“More allegations of potential impropriety will cause King Charles and Prince William to take further action,” Pelham Turner said. “William has gained a reputation for being hot-headed; even Charles could see this as the last straw with his brother.”
The controversy comes after US federal court convicted Maxwell in 2021 for her role in recruiting and grooming young women for Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
