Prince Harry is set to return to the UK for a significant event, as he will attend the annual WellChild Awards on September 30 in London.
As a patron of the charity for over 16 years, Harry has long supported the organisation, which focuses on helping children with serious health conditions and their families.
He will again be part of the ceremony this year, presenting an award and delivering a speech.
In a statement ahead of the event, Harry shared his pride in attending: “It is an honour to be part of this year’s WellChild Awards and celebrate the extraordinary courage and achievements of children with complex medical needs.

These young people, along with their caregivers and professionals who tirelessly support them, are truly inspiring.”
Harry’s appearance at the event comes shortly after his milestone 40th birthday, which reportedly included messages from members of the Royal Family, including King Charles.
This has sparked renewed speculation about the possibility of healing the strained relationship between Harry and his father. Sources suggest that King Charles is open to reconciliation despite ongoing family tensions.
A source told The Mirror: “There’s been much discussion about the rift between the Duke and his family, and much of it stems from Harry’s actions.
However, both he and the King are open to mending their relationship. While the King focuses on his health, his upcoming tour of Australia, and his reign, there is still room for improvement in their relationship.”
Prince Harry’s last visit to the UK was for the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, husband of Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Fellowes. While Harry attended the funeral alongside Prince William, reports suggest the two brothers did not speak.
During his May visit to the UK for a service marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, hopes were raised that Harry and Charles might reconcile, especially after Harry learned earlier in the year that his father had been diagnosed with cancer. However, despite being in London simultaneously, the pair did not meet.
There have been ongoing reports that Harry’s attempts to communicate with King Charles have gone unanswered, particularly regarding the Duke’s concerns about his security arrangements during his visits to the UK. After stepping down as a senior royal, Harry lost his automatic entitlement to police protection, a matter he has since contested in court.
Despite losing these legal battles, Harry plans an appeal, believing that his father could help resolve the issue. However, palace sources have denied these claims, calling them “wholly inaccurate.”
A friend of Harry’s revealed to PEOPLE magazine: “Harry has tried reaching out about his father’s health and other matters, but his calls go unanswered.”
As Prince Harry prepares for his return to London, speculation continues about whether this visit might lead to progress in resolving tensions within the Royal Family.
