Prince Harry is set to reunite with his father, King Charles III, during his upcoming trip to the UK — but Prince William is not expected to take part.
The Duke of Sussex will return to London on September 8 to attend the annual WellChild Awards, which coincides with the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

According to royal sources, both Harry and the King are keen to arrange a private meeting during the visit.
An insider told The Mirror there is “determination on both sides” to make the reunion possible, describing it as a potential first step towards repairing their fractured relationship.

The source added that while wider family tensions remain unresolved, the immediate focus is on Charles and Harry taking the opportunity to reconnect.
“This is about starting with a father and son,” the insider said, suggesting there is a “genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach” for the pair.
It would mark the first time Harry and Charles have met face-to-face since February, when the King revealed his cancer diagnosis.

For Harry, 40, the trip represents what aides have described as “the right moment” for a private and dignified conversation away from the public stage.
The meeting is not expected to involve grand gestures or formal family gatherings, but rather a quiet discussion aimed at keeping “the door open” for future dialogue.
However, the source was clear that Prince William has no plans to see his younger brother during the visit.

Relations between Harry and the Prince of Wales remain strained, with reconciliation dismissed as unlikely in the short term.
Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, will not travel with him. She is expected to remain in California with their two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.
The Duchess of Sussex has not returned to Britain since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022, which she later described as a “difficult” trip.

The couple relocated to the United States in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, later detailing their grievances in interviews, a docuseries, and Harry’s memoir Spare.

Earlier this year, Harry spoke of his wish to repair ties with his father, insisting that “continuing to fight” served no purpose.
He has since invited the King to attend the Invictus Games and has shared his official schedule with Buckingham Palace.
Prince William, meanwhile, is said to remain cautious about engaging with Harry, reportedly due to lingering concerns over trust and the role of Meghan.
