Prince Harry has returned to the UK to pay a private tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the third anniversary of her death.
The Duke of Sussex laid a wreath and flowers at Windsor Castle earlier today in memory of his late grandmother.
His appearance comes ahead of his scheduled attendance at the WellChild Awards in London, where he is expected to meet children, families and carers.
Return to the UK
This is Harry’s first trip to Britain in five months. His last visit came in May when he lost a legal challenge against the Home Office over changes to his personal security arrangements.
The duke, who lives in California with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, will also visit a community recording studio in Nottingham on Tuesday.
Uncertain Family Meetings
It remains unclear whether Harry will see his father, King Charles III, or his brother, Prince William, during his stay.
Harry last met the King more than 18 months ago after travelling to the UK when his father revealed his cancer diagnosis. His relationship with William is also widely reported to be tense.
Focus on WellChild
As patron of WellChild for the past 15 years, Harry will deliver a speech at tonight’s awards ceremony in London. He will meet award recipients, speak with seriously ill children and their families, and present a prize to a young child between four and six.
Ahead of the event, Harry highlighted the charity’s role in supporting families, saying the awards shine a light on the strength of children with complex health needs and the dedication of those who care for them.
Continuing Legacy
Harry’s return to Windsor underlines both his ongoing commitment to WellChild and his personal wish to honour his late grandmother. His short visit brings him back into the UK spotlight, though questions remain over whether it will also mark a step towards repairing fractured royal ties.
