The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, met with 16-year-old aspiring photographer Liz Hatton, who is battling a rare and aggressive cancer, at Windsor Castle. Liz, from Harrogate, was invited to take photos at an investiture ceremony after being diagnosed with desmoplastic small round cell tumour earlier this year.

Kate was seen warmly embracing Liz, and the royal couple expressed their admiration for the teenager’s talent and strength. In a social media post, they said, “A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today. A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us.”
Liz shared her excitement on social media, calling the experience “over the moon” and praising the Prince and Princess as “lovely, genuine, and kind people.”
The teenager had started a photography bucket list after her diagnosis, with doctors estimating her life expectancy to be between six months and three years. William, who learned about Liz through the London Air Ambulance Charity, invited her to photograph investiture recipients, including cyclist Sir Mark Cavendish and footballer Karen Carney.
The Prince and Princess met with Liz and her family privately after the ceremony, with some of her photos being shared on Kensington Palace’s social media. The royal couple posed for a group photo with Liz, her mother Vicky, stepfather Aaron, and brother Mateo.
