Police Investigate Apparent Suicide of Aryna Sabalenka’s Boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov

Police investigating the death of Aryna Sabalenka’s boyfriend have concluded it as an “apparent suicide,” finding no evidence of “foul play.”

Konstantin Koltsov, a former Belarusian professional hockey player, was discovered deceased at a Miami, Florida, hotel at the age of 42 on Monday. Despite this tragedy, Sabalenka, currently ranked second globally by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), remains in the city and intends to participate in her first match at the Miami Open on Friday, displaying remarkable resilience amidst grief.

In an official statement released, the Miami-Dade Police Department revealed details of the investigation, stating, “According to investigators, on Monday, 18 March, at approximately 12.39 am, Bal Harbour Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the St Regis Bal Harbour Resort.

The Miami-Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau responded and has taken over the investigation of the apparent suicide of Mr. Konstantin Koltsov. No foul play is suspected,” shedding light on the circumstances surrounding Koltsov’s tragic demise.

The news of Koltsov’s passing reverberated through the hockey community with Salavat Yulaev. In this Russian hockey club, he had played and later served as an assistant coach, issuing a heartfelt statement. The club expressed profound sorrow, describing Koltsov as a “strong and cheerful person” who left an indelible mark on players, colleagues, and fans alike.
