London — Sussex Police have launched an urgent manhunt after a family’s luggage was stolen at Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal on December 12 between 11:35 and 11:50 a.m.
The stolen suitcase contained valuable items, including Apple electronics, laptops, house keys, a wallet, Sony headphones, and scuba diving equipment.
The theft occurred at check-in area A, where the victims, including young children, were preparing for a long-haul flight.
Authorities believe the suspect boarded a bus to Crawley and later attempted to use stolen bank cards in the Langley Green area.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30s with a beard, wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, black trainers, and a dark or brown-colored baseball cap.
Inspector Mark Robinson stated: “This was distressing for the victim, who was with his young family and preparing for a holiday during the busy festive season.”
CCTV images of the suspect have been released, and police are urging anyone identifying him to come forward.
