Pirates of the Caribbean” Star Kevin McNally Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

M10news – Reports have surfaced stating that Kevin McNally, renowned for his role as Joshamee Gibbs in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series, has been arrested over allegations of domestic violence. The 67-year-old actor, scheduled to attend a significant “Doctor Who” convention in Los Angeles, was reportedly detained a day before the event.

McNally, married to “Downton Abbey” star Phyllis Logan, has been released on £40,000 bail and is expected to appear in court next month, according to The Sun. His wife denied any knowledge of the arrest, and the identity of the alleged victim remains unclear.

McNally, known for his roles in “Downton Abbey” alongside Phyllis Logan, has a diverse acting portfolio, including appearances in “Doctor Who” and “The Crown.” The Los Angeles police informed The Sun that the actor was held on suspicion of causing injury resulting in a traumatic condition to a current or former spouse, cohabitant, or child’s parent.

In 2021, McNally defended his co-star Johnny Depp during Depp’s trial against Amber Heard, where Depp was accused of physical abuse. McNally expressed his support for Depp, stating he had never witnessed any negative behaviour from him and believed he should be able to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow.

While McNally is widely recognized for his role in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, he has also appeared in various television shows and films, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

McNally and Phyllis Logan met in 1994 on the mini-series “Love and Reason” set and married in 2011. They share a son named David and reside in Chiswick, London.
