Newly unsealed court documents have revealed a batch of photos that captured girls and young women posing on Jeffrey Epstein’s private Caribbean island in 2006, including Epstein’s madam, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The photos, provided by Epstein accuser Sarah Ransome, were taken on Little St. James Island. Some images show a group of girls hugging each other as they smile for the camera, while others show Maxwell lounging on a chair with her feet resting on a dining table.

Another photo shows Maxwell perched on a couch alongside Epstein’s friend Jean-Luc Brunel, the French modelling scout who killed himself in December 2020 while in a Parisian prison on charges of raping underage girls.

The photos were handed over as part of the since-settled defamation lawsuit case that Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre had brought against Maxwell in 2015. Ransome testified in the Giuffre case that Maxwell was like the “mama bear” and called the shots. Ransome has also claimed that Epstein promised to use his influence to get her into the Fashion Institute of Technology in exchange for being one of his “sex slaves.”

The trove of photos included in the 17 documents, totalling 327 pages, was released on Monday. It adds to the cache of information that has emerged in the last week about how Epstein leveraged his connections to the rich, powerful, and famous to cover up his crimes. Thousands of pages of documents from the lawsuit had already been made public, but some sections and names had been redacted because of privacy concerns.

The entire cache of documents was ordered to be released by Manhattan federal Judge Loretta Preska last month.
