Penneys Set to Open First Store in Bray, Wicklow
Excitement brews in Bray as Irish retail giant Penneys announces the upcoming opening of its inaugural store in the town.
The much-anticipated establishment is slated to commence operations this summer after receiving the official unit handover at Bray Central Shopping Centre.
Spanning an impressive 19,600 sq. ft, the new Penneys store marks the brand’s 38th establishment in Ireland and its first in Co. Wicklow. Situated in a prime location, the store’s presence is poised to invigorate the local economy while offering shoppers a diverse range of fashion, beauty, and homeware products.
Penney enthusiasts can expect to peruse the latest seasonal trends and timeless wardrobe essentials at affordable prices.
The store will feature an array of offerings, including womenswear, menswear, kidswear, beauty, and homeware, including the esteemed Primark Cares label.
As anticipation mounts, recruitment for various positions within the new store is set to commence in the coming months, providing job opportunities for interested applicants. Details regarding career opportunities will be available on the Primark website as the opening date draws closer.
Establishing the Penneys store in Bray underscores the brand’s commitment to investing in Ireland, with plans to inject over €250 million into the country over the next decade. This investment initiative encompasses developing, relocating, and refurbishing stores nationwide, including a state-of-the-art warehousing and distribution facility in Co. Kildare.
In tandem with its domestic expansion, Primark is embarking on an ambitious international journey, with aspirations to operate 530 stores worldwide by the end of 2026. This global expansion includes ventures into new markets, such as Hungary, slated for opening later this year.
In related news, Tesco Ireland shoppers are in for welcome savings as the supermarket chain announces price reductions on popular parenting staples, particularly baby formula. Following a notable increase in baby formula prices over recent years, Tesco has lowered consumer costs.
Savings of up to €3.70 per box are expected, with reductions on various brands such as SMA and Cow and Gate. For instance, SMA Little Steps infant formula is set to drop from €13.59 to €9.99 per 800g box, providing significant relief for budget-conscious parents.
Other SMA products like Follow On Milk and SMA Pro branded Infant Formula will also see price adjustments. Follow On Milk will now cost €9.99 instead of €13.69, while SMA Pro Infant Formula will cost €14.99 instead of €16.49. Similarly, the different types of Cow and Gate infant formula will now cost €13.99 instead of €14.99, representing a €1 reduction in price.
While Aptamil prices remain unchanged, Danone’s Cow and Gate brand joins Tesco’s initiative to alleviate the financial strain for families, reflecting a commitment to affordability and accessibility in essential baby care products.
