Pastor Narrowly Escapes Assassination Attempt During Pennsylvania Church Service (Video)

26-year-old Bernard Polite was arrested after attempting to shoot Pastor Glenn Germany during a church service at Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock, Pennsylvania. The incident was captured on camera.

A harrowing live stream of the event captured Pastor Germany taking cover as Polite brandished the firearm.

Reflecting on the incident, Pastor Germany expressed gratitude for still being alive, acknowledging that Polite had indeed pulled the trigger but thankfully missed.

Describing the tense moments, Germany recounted how Polite moved to the front of the church. It pointed the gun directly at him while he was preaching, prompting Germany to seek cover instinctively.

The church’s deacon, Clarence McCallister, was quickly reacting in the footage, leaping across to tackle Polite. Together, McCallister and the pastor disarmed and subdued Polite until law enforcement arrived.

Despite the danger and fear, Pastor Germany’s thoughts also turned to forgiveness. Even after the incident, he shared that Polite, while in custody, mentioned experiencing “spirits” urging him to commit violence.

Germany recalled Polite apologizing, to which the pastor responded with forgiveness and love.

Polite now faces serious charges such as aggravated assault and attempted homicide for his actions during the church service.

In a separate but related development, authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in Polite’s residence, located less than half a mile from the church.

The victim, identified as Derek Polite, 56, was found deceased, though the circumstances and timeline of the shooting remain unclear.
