“Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know,” Obama, 62, stated on Friday, reflecting on the challenges of political debates from his own experience.

During the debate, Biden, 81, faced criticism for moments of hesitation and stumbling, which raised concerns about his readiness for the presidency. Despite this, Obama emphasized the fundamental choice facing voters in November.

“This election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself,” Obama asserted, contrasting Biden’s integrity and commitment to truth with what he described as Trump’s self-serving behaviour.

“Last night didn’t change that, and it’s why so much is at stake in November,” Obama emphasized, underscoring the critical decision voters will make for the country’s future.

Following Biden’s disappointing performance, rumours swirled about the possibility of his replacement on the Democratic ticket. However, Biden’s aides dismissed these speculations, affirming his commitment to continue preparing for future debates, including a planned rematch in September.

Obama’s remarks aimed to reassure supporters amidst the scrutiny over Biden’s debate performance, emphasizing the broader context of the election and urging voters to consider the contrasting visions offered by the candidates.
