Northamptonshire Woman’s Body Found in Car Boot in East London, Murder Investigation Launched
A woman’s body has been discovered in the boot of a car in East London, sparking a murder investigation. The woman, who was from Corby in Northamptonshire, was found after police were alerted to concerns for her welfare last Wednesday.
According to Northamptonshire Police, a rapid investigation led officers to the vehicle in the Ilford area of London, where they discovered the woman’s body. Superintendent Steve Freeman confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious, and a murder probe has been launched.
Freeman added that detectives from both the East Midlands Special Operations Unit and the Metropolitan Police are handling the case. He assured the public that while the incident appears to be targeted, there is no broader risk to the community. In response, extra patrols will be deployed in Corby over the coming days to provide reassurance.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Individuals can contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
