Nicki Minaj fans were furious on Saturday night after being stranded in Dublin in the pouring rain for several hours.
Fans of the top-selling female rapper of the 2010s flocked to Malahide Castle on July 6 for Nicki’s first gig in Ireland since her performances at Dublin’s 3Arena and Belfast’s Odyssey Arena in March 2015.
Despite high anticipation, the gig was marred by delays and weather issues. The concert passed the curfew by 20 minutes, ending around 10.50 pm. This meant the delay was 40 minutes longer than the concert itself. With ticket prices starting at €89.90, many fans took to Twitter to express their frustration and demand refunds.
One attendee tweeted: “She’s over an hour late, people are soaked from the rain, and she sang about 40 seconds of each song. OMG, worst concert I’ve ever been to #GagCityDublin.”
Another fan added: “Would be great to get an official statement about this joke you’re calling #NickiMinaj in Malahide. It was a 50-minute gig, late for 2 hrs, sound blasting as far as Artane. Hope you will never bring this ‘performer’ to Dublin again.”

A third critic wrote: “@NICKIMINAJ arriving over an hour late to her gig in #Malahide #NickiMinajDublin knowing that the curfew is 10:30 pm yet continues to cut all her songs in half. Absolute disgrace. We all remember when you cancelled in Ireland last time, you came because of low ticket sales!”
Despite the backlash, Nicki showed no signs of apologizing for the delay. After the concert, she wrote on social media: “#GagCityDublin is the WINNER. THERE!!!!! I said it!!!!!!!!!!! BEST CROWD OF ALL F**** TIME.”
Nicki was last scheduled to play Dublin’s 3Arena in 2019, but the show was cancelled just hours before its start due to adverse weather conditions.
