Canadian singer Nelly Furtado turned heads on Saturday as she took to the stage at the Boardmasters Festival in the United Kingdom, delivering a performance as visually striking as it was musically engaging.
The 46-year-old “I’m Like a Bird” hitmaker showcased her figure in shimmering metallic ruffled shorts paired with a green halter-style top. Her outfit was completed with ornate knee-high boots, adding an extra flair to her festival-ready look.

Furtado accessorised with furry lime-green sleeves worn off the shoulder, layered silver chain necklaces, statement drop earrings, and oversized black sunglasses, creating a vibrant and playful aesthetic.
Clips posted to her Instagram Stories showed her engaging directly with fans during the set, including a repost from one admirer who described her as “the loveliest queen.”

Her appearance comes months after she publicly addressed persistent speculation about her looks. In January, the Grammy Award-winner shared photos in an orange bikini alongside a candid message about body image and self-acceptance.
“This year I became aware of the aesthetic pressure of my work in a brand new way,” she wrote at the time. “At the same time, I experienced new levels of self-love and confidence from within.”

Furtado clarified that she has not undergone facial or body surgeries, nor received injections or fillers, apart from recently getting veneers on her top teeth. She encouraged followers to embrace both self-acceptance and the choice to make personal changes if they wish.
“Express yourself freely, celebrate your individuality and know that it’s perfectly OK to be OK with what you see in the mirror,” she told her fans. “It’s also OK to want something different.”

In the same post, she wished her audience a “body neutral 2025,” signing off with a heartfelt reminder to “love with every inch of your heart.”
The Portuguese-Canadian artist has previously spoken about the way her image was edited earlier in her career. She revealed in a 2024 interview that some magazines altered her skin tone and body shape without her consent during photo shoots in the 2000s.
“They would lighten my skin and slim down my hips,” she told People. “It was something I noticed happening often in editorials at the time.”

Furtado has also been candid about stepping away from the spotlight to focus on raising her three children. Speaking to NPR last year, she explained that motherhood has reshaped her creative process and confidence in the studio.
“I have a clear sense of detachment and boundaries now,” she said. “I’m able to experiment more, even if it means putting two people together in a room who might clash creatively. I find that tension exciting.”

Her Boardmasters performance, blending dynamic style with audience connection, underscored Furtado’s enduring presence in pop music more than two decades after her debut.
