M10news – Former First Lady Michelle Obama is reportedly reluctant to campaign publicly for President Biden’s re-election, partly due to the Biden family’s treatment of her close friend, Kathleen Buhle, following her divorce from Hunter Biden.
According to a new report from Axios, Michelle Obama has largely stayed off the 2024 campaign trail, expressing private frustration over Buhle’s apparent exile from the Biden family. Two sources familiar with the relationship have confirmed this account.

The sources added that Michelle’s disdain for partisan politics also contributes to her absence this election cycle.
Michelle Obama and Kathleen Buhle’s friendship dates back to the Obama administration, with Hunter Biden acknowledging in his memoir that Michelle and his ex-wife often worked out together and shared evening cocktails at the White House.

Hunter and Buhle divorced in 2017 after she accused him of infidelity and squandering the family’s savings on drugs and prostitutes.
Buhle reportedly leaned heavily on Michelle Obama during the complex divorce proceedings.

Privately, Michelle Obama has expressed that she felt the Biden family wronged Buhle after details of her 22-year marriage to Hunter emerged.

Despite these claims, a White House spokesman dismissed rumours of a rift between the Obamas and Bidens, stating, “The Biden and Obama families are like family to one another, and whoever made these claims about that relationship isn’t familiar with it.”

The spokesman added that the former President and First Lady support President Biden’s leadership and agenda.

A representative for Mrs. Obama confirmed her support for Biden’s re-election campaign and emphasized that she remains friends with both Buhle and the Bidens, adding, “Two things can be true.”
