Two Metropolitan Police officers, PC Wayne Sansom and PC Ben Jeffries, are facing a misconduct hearing over allegations of inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour between 2020 and 2023.
The hearing, scheduled between June 23 and July 4, will determine whether the officers violated professional standards, including discreditable conduct, authority, respect, courtesy, equality, and diversity.
Allegations Against PC Ben Jeffries
- Made multiple inappropriate and discourteous comments to colleagues, including sexual remarks and statements about race and sexuality.
- Took an inappropriate image of himself on a female colleague’s phone.
- Sent an unsolicited inappropriate image to the same colleague via WhatsApp.
Allegations Against PC Wayne Sansom
- Made inappropriate comments about a female colleague’s sexuality and other sexual remarks.
- Allegedly farted close to a female officer’s face in November 2021.
If found guilty of gross misconduct, both officers could face dismissal from the force.
The Met Police has stated that the identities of victims and witnesses may be protected during the hearing.
