Former First Lady Melania Trump has weighed in on the 2024 presidential election, describing it as significantly different from previous ones due to the increased division within the country.

Speaking on Hannity Wednesday, she remarked, “We are dealing with much more danger,” pointing to global threats and recent assassination attempts against her husband, former President Donald Trump.

She referred to two attempts on Trump’s life. In July, would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots at Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, before being fatally shot by a counter-sniper.

Months later, Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested after allegedly being spotted with a rifle near Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course. Routh has since been charged with the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate.

Melania Trump emphasised the importance of listening to differing perspectives and respecting free speech, highlighting concerns over the growing trend of cancel culture. “We have different perspectives, we have different beliefs.

We need to respect our freedom of speech and individuality,” she told host Sean Hannity, adding that open debate fosters innovation and success.

Despite the intensity of the election cycle, Melania said she remains focused and tries to enjoy the process, preparing for any unexpected challenges that may arise.

She stressed that the outcome rests in the hands of the American people, noting, “People decide what they want for this country, and it will be again this year on Nov. 5.”

The former First Lady is also promoting her memoir, Melania, which will be released on October 8. The book details her life before, during, and after her time in the White House and the challenges she faced in the public eye.
