Megan Thee Stallion and NBA star Klay Thompson made their first official public appearance as a couple on Wednesday night, attending the inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City.
The “Savage” rapper praised her new partner while speaking on the red carpet, telling M10news, “I have never dated somebody so kind. This is my first relationship where I’ve been with someone who’s genuinely nice, and he makes me genuinely happy.”

Megan described Thompson as a supportive and rare partner, adding, “I’ve never dated somebody like him before. I’m just grateful he’s here by my side and feels the same way about me.”
The couple, who recently sparked speculation after Thompson was seen in the background of one of Megan’s social media posts, looked affectionate and poised as they walked the red carpet hand in hand.
They posed together, smiling warmly and holding each other close in front of the event’s step-and-repeat backdrop before Thompson stepped aside for Megan’s solo photographs.

Before parting ways on the carpet, Thompson shared a brief kiss with Megan, underscoring the bond between them.
The gala, hosted by Megan’s Pete & Thomas Foundation, marked a significant milestone for the artist. The nonprofit is named in honor of her late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III, and supports initiatives in education, housing, and health and wellness.
“I feel like I’m carrying on a good legacy of my family name,” Megan said. “I know my parents are looking down on me super proud.”

For the black-tie event, Megan wore a sleek black halter gown accented by a jeweled belt and styled her hair in a tight, elegant bun. Thompson complemented her look in a classic black tuxedo.

The guest list included a mix of entertainment heavyweights, with rapper Fat Joe, singer Muni Long, and actress Taraji P. Henson among those in attendance. Henson also served as host for the night.

While the couple dazzled on the carpet, Megan revealed their off-duty time is far more low-key. She shared that earlier in the week, they had been at home watching “Love Island USA.”

She noted that Thompson is the bigger fan of the reality show, joking, “He’s the real ‘Love Island’ fan.”
Thompson made their relationship Instagram official last weekend, posting affectionate vacation photos showing the pair kissing and holding hands.

Megan later shared a now-deleted TikTok video offering a glimpse into their dynamic. Sitting on Thompson’s lap, she showed off a collection of Labubu dolls gifted by “[her] man.”
Before her relationship with Thompson, Megan was linked to rapper Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine, whom she dated from 2021 until their split in 2023.
