Megan Thee Stallion has addressed her ongoing feud with Nicki Minaj, expressing uncertainty about the cause of their rift.
In a recent interview with Billboard, the rapper discussed their tension, which has fuelled a series of diss tracks and public exchanges over the past year.
“I still to this day don’t know what the problem is,” Megan said, indicating that she remains confused about the source of their conflict. She added that she doesn’t see a path to reconciliation because she is unaware of what caused the fallout in the first place.
The feud between the two artists began to escalate in January when Minaj released a single titled “Big Foot,” which appeared to take aim at Megan. The release followed Megan’s hit track “Hiss,” which includes the line, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start.”
Megan’s confusion is particularly striking given their previous collaboration on the successful 2019 single “Hot Girl Summer.” However, tensions flared again when Minaj’s December album “Pink Friday 2” featured the song “FTCU,” with lyrics seemingly referencing Megan’s 2020 shooting incident involving Tory Lanez.
Reflecting on her position in the industry, Megan noted that being a target of diss tracks could be seen as a backhanded compliment. “If people feel like I’m somebody to aim at, then I must be pretty high up if you’re reaching up at me,” she said. “I must be some kind of competition. That makes me feel good. That makes me feel like I could rap because if I wasn’t the shit, y’all wouldn’t be worried about me.”
As the drama continues to unfold, Megan emphasized that her focus remains on her music and career, even if her work has inadvertently sparked broader conflicts in the rap world.
