Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has joined others in questioning the necessity of former President Donald Trump’s ear bandage, worn in his first public appearance since an alleged assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend.
The severity of Trump’s injury has sparked scepticism, with MSNBC host Ari Melber describing the bandage as a “spectacle.”
Of course- this is obviously a PR stunt- the day after the shooting he had no dressing on his ear… not even a band-Aid. https://t.co/k27UJ3rYHO

Navratilova responded to a social media post questioning the bandage’s size, citing insights from a trauma centre charge nurse. “She says there’s no need to dress an ear wound like this unless half his ear was blown off. And even then, it wouldn’t look like this,” the post read. Navratilova echoed this sentiment, labelling the bandage as a “PR stunt” by Trump.

In a tweet, Navratilova pointed out the rapid appearance of the bandage, contrasting it with Trump’s initial appearance without any dressing on his ear the day after the alleged incident.
She did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

Donald Trump Jr. defended his father on “Fox & Friends,” criticizing MSNBC for questioning the validity of the injury. “He wasn’t shot in the face enough for them. It wasn’t enough?” Trump Jr. stated, attributing such scepticism to “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
The bandage worn by Trump has also been adopted by several delegates at the Republican National Convention (RNC) as a show of solidarity.
Arizona delegate Joe Neglia explained his gesture as a way to honour and express unity with Trump following the alleged assassination attempt.
