Mark Cuban’s Poll Asks Which 2024 Candidate Children Should Emulate: Trump Wins by a Landslide
Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban sparked a significant social media debate on Friday night with a poll on X (formerly Twitter).
He asked his followers whose ‘persona and character’ they would prefer young children to emulate: Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.
The poll, which received a massive response, ended with Trump winning 68.9% of the vote compared to Harris’ 31.1% out of a total of 804,173 votes. This poll, with its far-reaching implications, has truly engaged the public in a larger social discourse.
The poll not only garnered attention but also a diverse range of reactions from various political commentators and influencers. Valentina Gomez, a former Republican candidate for Missouri Secretary of State, weighed in and criticized Harris’ professional background, showcasing the breadth of public opinion on this matter.
Cuban, a billionaire and known critic of Trump, has a complicated history with the former president. Initially, he supported Trump’s candidacy in 2015, appreciating his non-traditional political approach. Cuban later revealed in an August interview with Vivek Ramaswamy that he didn’t believe Trump had a real chance of winning and viewed his candidacy as a disruption to the political norm.
Despite his early support, Cuban’s stance shifted, and he expressed strong opposition to Trump, even going as far as saying he would vote for Joe Biden over Trump under any circumstances. Cuban has since supported Kamala Harris, particularly defending her economic policies and criticising Trump for allegedly copying her ideas.
Cuban’s poll and evolving political views highlight the ongoing polarisation in American politics and the influence of social media in shaping public discourse.
