Manchester United Striker Marcus Rashford Banned from Driving for Six Months
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has been banned from driving for six months after admitting to speeding, court officials have confirmed.
The 26-year-old footballer, known for his luxury car collection, was caught exceeding the 70mph speed limit on the M60 in Manchester on December 12 last year while driving his Rolls-Royce.
HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has confirmed that Rashford was disqualified from driving for six months, fined £1,666 (€1,980), and ordered to pay £120 in court costs and a £66 surcharge.
The specific speed at which Rashford was travelling was not recorded.
Court records indicate that Rashford admitted the offence under the Single Justice Procedure.
According to The Sun, he appeared via videolink before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court.
Rashford was not included in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad following a challenging season in which he scored only eight goals for United across all competitions.
He has recently expressed his intention to take time off to mentally reset, acknowledging the difficulties of the past season. He thanked his fans on X (formerly Twitter) and announced his decision to step away from social media temporarily.
This speeding incident follows a car crash in September last year, in which Rashford was unharmed. At that time, he was involved in a collision with another vehicle after Manchester United’s Premier League victory over Burnley.
Emergency services attended the scene, but no injuries or arrests were reported.
Rashford owns a fleet of luxury vehicles, including a £390,000 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan, a Cullinan Blue Shadow, a £280,000 McLaren 765 Long Tail, and a £350,000 Lamborghini Urus Performante.
Representatives for Rashford have been contacted for comment.
