Dublin, Ireland – Gardai have arrested a 42-year-old man and seized cannabis valued at approximately €1.6 million during an operation targeting organized crime in Dublin yesterday.
The arrest followed the interception of a vehicle by the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau shortly after 6:30 PM in Blanchardstown.
A separate search, conducted under warrant, targeted a business premises in the same area. During these searches, 80 kilograms of cannabis herb were confiscated.
A Garda spokesman confirmed the estimated street value of the seized drugs is around €1.6 million.
“One male, aged 42 years, was arrested about drug trafficking and is currently detained, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, at a Garda Station in Dublin,” the spokesman said.
