Man Arrested After Body Found in Tipperary House: Police Investigate Possible Homicide
A Polish man in his 30s was found dead at a house near the small village of Kilross in Co Tipperary at 4 am on 27 December. Following a post-mortem examination at University Hospital Waterford, a man in his 20s has been arrested and is being held under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act. The investigation into all the circumstances of the man’s death is ongoing.
The house, located in the isolated townland of Ballycrana near Kilross, was rented by the deceased and several others. Several people had reportedly gathered at the home on St Stephen’s night for a birthday celebration, and gardaí are anxious to speak to those who attended.
Councillor Declan Burgess, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary, Cahir and Cashel Municipal District, where Kilross is located, expressed his shock and concern over the incident. He described Kilross as a beautiful community in west Tipperary and said that to be struck by such sad news was very concerning.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information to contact Tipperary town garda station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any garda station. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
