Cameron Jones, a 29-year-old resident of Merthyr in South Wales, has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and driving uninsured following a tragic car accident.
The incident led to the death of Demi Mabbitt, his 25-year-old girlfriend, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Despite initial rescue efforts, Demi succumbed to her injuries a week later.
Following the collision, Jones went missing, prompting a search by law enforcement authorities. He was eventually located and brought to justice for his involvement in the accident.
Jones is scheduled to be sentenced at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court later this month, with Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke emphasizing the seriousness of the offences and warning of an immediate custodial sentence.
In response to the tragic loss, Demi’s father, Paul Mabbitt, paid tribute to his daughter, describing her as a beloved member of the family and a source of strength for those around her.
