Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney appeared on ‘The View’ on Monday, emphasising women’s pivotal role in the upcoming election. “Women are going to save the day in this election,” Cheney declared, urging viewers to get out and vote to protect the republic.

In September, Cheney had expressed her decision to part ways with her party’s presidential nominee, opting instead to support Vice President Kamala Harris. During her *The View* appearance, she praised Harris for her sincerity and dedication to serving all Americans, particularly young girls. “I think she embodies the qualities of a faithful public servant who operates in good faith and can lead and inspire,” Cheney stated.

Cheney criticised figures like Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump for their reactions to women making independent voting decisions, asserting that conservatism should align with fidelity to the Constitution. She accused Trump of straying from conservative principles, particularly in light of his proposed tariff policies, which she argued would raise taxes, increase inflation, and contribute to the national debt.

Highlighting the abortion debate, Cheney underscored that female voters need not compromise their religious beliefs but should view the issue through the lens of women’s healthcare. “Being pro-life does not mean that you support the draconian restrictions that have been put in place,” she said, affirming her belief that Harris would protect women’s health care.

Cheney challenged Trump’s assertion that he would protect women “whether they like it or not,” declaring, “Let’s defeat Donald Trump tomorrow, whether he likes it or not. There is only one serious, responsible adult in this race.”

In response to Cheney’s remarks, Trump, speaking at an event in Glendale, Arizona, labelled her a “radical war hawk.” He suggested that the U.S. would be embroiled in conflicts across multiple countries under Cheney’s leadership and criticised Washington politicians for advocating military interventions while remaining safely ensconced in their offices.

Cheney’s comments reflect a broader movement among women voters as the election approaches, emphasising their critical role in shaping the political landscape.
