Lara Trump spoke about her fashion choices for the upcoming inauguration, saying President-elect Donald Trump entrusted her to handle her family’s attire.
I think he knows, at this point, we all get what to do, and he trusts us,” she told The Post. She added that the focus is on more important matters than what they wear for the occasion.

For her outfits, Lara, 42, focused on colours inspired by the American flag. “I always want to err on the side of patriotic colours but not go too overboard,” she explained. She said she plans to strike a balance, feeling confident she’ll achieve that goal.
For the three inauguration balls she’ll attend, Lara has selected a gown by Oscar Garcia-Lopez, a Cuban-born Miami-based designer, who also designed her dress for Trump’s inauguration in 2017. For the candlelight dinner with donors, Lara will wear a dress by Chiara Boni, an Italian designer who also created a gown for her in 2017.

“I wanted to mimic the same things that happened [in 2017] because it was an incredible time then, and we’re hoping for the same now,” she said.
Lara, who is married to Eric Trump, the youngest child of Donald Trump and his first wife, Ivana, explained that her husband was little involved in her sartorial choices.
“Oh gosh, he’s probably seen me put these things on multiple times, and he probably hasn’t even realized it,” Lara said, adding that Eric trusts her judgment on these matters.
She also mentioned how she has helped Eric with his attire, a role many wives take on. “I’ve had to assist him in his outfit as well, as probably many wives are doing in general,” she joked.

While Lara keeps her fashion choices individual, she revealed that she hasn’t coordinated with anyone else in the family. She doesn’t know what the other Trump women will wear for the event.
“A lot of people have asked me if those of us in the family talked about different colours so we don’t match, but we have not,” she said. “So I guess it will surprise us all when we show up on Monday.”
This inauguration is special for Lara as it marks the first time she’ll dress her two children, Luke, 7, and Carolina, 6, for such a momentous occasion.

“This is a new one for me because I was pregnant with my oldest son at the inauguration in 2017,” she reflected. Lara shared that her children have “very nice looking outfits for everything,” and she took extra care to coordinate their attire for the event.
