According to multiple sources, Kylian Mbappé is set to join Real Madrid once his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer.
The 25-year-old French forward has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants for several years, but PSG have been reluctant to let go of their star player, who joined them from Monaco in 2017 for a whopping €180 million.
However, Mbappé has refused to sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 champions . And has made it clear that he wants to play for Real Madrid, his childhood dream club. He is expected to announce his decision to join Los Blancos next week and will arrive at the Bernabeu on a free transfer in July.
Mbappé has been in sensational form for PSG this season, scoring 29 goals and providing seven assists in 28 appearances in all competitions. He has also helped the club win five league titles, four French Cups, and the Champions League final in 2020.
However, he has not been able to achieve his ultimate goal of lifting the European trophy with PSG, and he believes that he has a better chance of doing so with Real Madrid, who have won the competition a record 13 times.
Mbappé will join a formidable attack at Real Madrid alongside Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo. He will also reunite with his compatriot and idol, Zinedine Zidane, the club manager.
Mbappé’s arrival will be a massive boost for Real Madrid, who are currently second in La Liga, four points behind leaders Atletico Madrid. They are also in the last 16 of the Champions League, where they will face Borussia Dortmund.
Mbappé is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world and has already won several individual awards, including the Golden Boy in 2017, the Ligue 1 Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019, and the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player in 2018. He was also the joint-top scorer at the 2018 World Cup, where he helped France win their second title.
Mbappé’s move to Real Madrid will be one of the most significant transfers in football history and will undoubtedly significantly impact the balance of power in Europe. PSG will have to find a suitable replacement for their talisman, while Real Madrid hopes he can lead them to glory in the coming years.
