King Charles III received a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute from his eldest son, Prince William, while his younger son, Prince Harry, remained notably silent. The monarch, 75, joined billions of fathers celebrated worldwide on Sunday.

In a break from tradition, Prince William took to social media to honour his father. He posted a nostalgic childhood photo of himself playing in the garden with Charles, then the Prince of Wales. The snap, dated June 12, 1984, shows a young William beaming just days before his second birthday. Missing from the photo was Prince Harry, who chose not to acknowledge Father’s Day publicly.

Unlike the royal family, the Duke of Sussex, 39, stayed low-key during Sunday’s festivities. Reports suggest he was not invited to the Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday. There were no public Father’s Day messages from Harry or his wife, Meghan Markle, who is known to have a strained relationship with her father, Thomas Markle. Additionally, the couple did not share any images of Harry with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on social media.

In the UK, other royals also celebrated the day. Kensington Royal posted a touching image of Prince William with his three children—Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—taken last month on the Norfolk coast. The caption read, “We love you, Papa.”

The official royal family social media accounts shared throwback footage of King Charles with his late father, Prince Philip, capturing moments from over the years. Their message read, “Wishing all Dads and”se who may be missing their parents today a relaxing Father’s Day.”
While his father’s si”ence was noticeable, Harry’s’ it is unclear if he contacted his father privately to mark the holiday. Representatives for the Sussexes have not responded to requests for comment.
