In a break from tradition, Prince William took to social media to honour his father. He posted a nostalgic childhood photo of himself playing in the garden with Charles, then the Prince of Wales. The snap, dated June 12, 1984, shows a young William beaming just days before his second birthday. Missing from the photo was Prince Harry, who chose not to acknowledge Father’s Day publicly.

Unlike the royal family, the Duke of Sussex, 39, stayed low-key during Sunday’s festivities. Reports suggest he was not invited to the Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday. There were no public Father’s Day messages from Harry or his wife, Meghan Markle, who is known to have a strained relationship with her father, Thomas Markle. Additionally, the couple did not share any images of Harry with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on social media.
