King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London a week after the royal family missed Prince Harry’s event at the same venue.
The royal couple donned red robes for the Service of Dedication for the Order of the British Empire.
Prince Harry celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8, which his parents, King Charles III and the late Princess Diana, famously married in 1981.
However, Charles and Camilla were absent from the event as they attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace.
Royal expert Christopher Anderson suggested that Charles and Camilla’s attendance at St. Paul’s Cathedral a week later could be interpreted as a snub to Prince Harry, indicating that he is “no longer on their radar.”
Anderson expressed disappointment that Charles did not support Harry’s event, noting that even a brief private meeting could have been a significant gesture.
He added that the senior royals seemed in a bubble and could not see the bigger picture.
The Service of Dedication for the Order of the British Empire is held every four years, with Charles as Sovereign and Camilla as Grand Master. The hourlong service was attended by 2,000 holders of honours from the UK and the Commonwealth.
The Order of the British Empire was established in 1917 by King George V to recognize contributions to the UK’s war efforts. It later expanded to include achievements in various fields, such as the arts, sciences, charity work, and public service.
Prince William did not attend the service as he was conducting an investiture ceremony, while Princess Diana was on leave from official royal duties due to cancer treatment.
Despite speculation, Prince Harry’s representative confirmed that a meeting with his father, King Charles III, was impossible due to his buKing’sedule.
However, Harry understands his father’s commitments and hopes to see him soon.
The absence of a meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles III has fueled speculation about their relationship and the dynamics within the royal family. Some observers view it as indicative of broader tensions within the family, while others attribute it to scheduling conflicts and differing priorities. Regardless, the situation highlights the complex nature of royal relationships and the public scrutiny accompanying them.
