Kim Kardashian Faces Fear of Booing During ‘Tonight Show’ Appearance After Tom Brady Roast Incident
Kim Kardashian candidly addressed her deep-seated fear of being booed during her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday night.
The reality star and entrepreneur, 43, expressed relief at the positive reception she received from the studio audience, who greeted her with enthusiastic cheers and applause.
“It’s my biggest fear in life to get booed, so this welcome is, like, so so good!” Kardashian told Fallon, visibly relieved.
Host Jimmy Fallon quickly reassured her, saying, “Never! They love you. Come on! We’re New York City; we love you.”
This moment of anxiety comes after a challenging experience Kardashian faced in May when she was booed during a high-profile event. While watching “The Roast of Tom Brady” on Netflix, Kardashian was invited as a special guest to roast the legendary NFL quarterback. However, before she could even deliver her first joke, she was met with boos from an audience filled with celebrities, sports figures, and comedians.
As Kardashian began her remarks by addressing Kevin Hart, the host of the roast, she was interrupted by the jeering crowd. “I know many people make fun of your height,” she started but paused as the booing intensified. Hart, 45, stepped in to try and calm the situation, urging the crowd with a “Whoa, whoa, whoa.”
In the aftermath, Netflix decided to edit out the boos from any future viewings of the special. According to a source, Kardashian had “nothing to do” with this decision and was “just as surprised” by the edits as anyone else. The insider praised Kardashian for handling the situation, noting that she “handled it gracefully.”
While Brady’s roast was widely regarded as a success, some aspects of the comedy special sparked controversy. Jokes about Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, and her relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente reportedly upset the supermodel. Despite some insiders believing the jokes were “fair game,” Brady later admitted that the roast may have crossed a line, particularly concerning his children.
“loved when the jokes were about me,” Brady said on “the Pivot” podcast in May. “I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way that affected my kids.” A source previously told M10news that Kardashian handled the situation with “race.” Getty Images for Netflix
KKardashian’s admission on “The Tonight Show” “underscores the vulnerability even major celebrities can feel in public scrutiny and how past experiences can shape their concerns when appearing in the spotlight.
