A Kentucky woman has been arrested after allegedly leaving her 1-year-old daughter alone inside an apartment without food, authorities confirmed. The incident reportedly occurred in Richmond, Kentucky, earlier this week
According to court documents obtained by the Lexington Herald-Leader, the child was briefly fed before being left alone. Police say the mother also left a farewell note addressed to her partner.
The child, left inside a playpen near a 65-inch television, reportedly had no additional food or supervision for several hours. Authorities stressed that the apartment door was left unlocked, creating a particularly unsafe environment.
Vicker was located by Richmond police officers approximately two hours later at the Revival Tabernacle church, situated about 1.5 miles from the apartment, officials said.

When questioned by officers, Vicker allegedly explained her actions by saying, “My flesh and spirit could not take it no longer, so I left,” according to police statements.
Makenzie Davis, executive assistant for Richmond Police, told local media that the discovery of the child alone in the apartment was deeply concerning.
“They did find a 1-year-old child left in this person’s apartment that had just been abandoned,” Davis said, noting that the note indicated the mother intended to leave the child.
Davis further explained that leaving the apartment door unlocked compounded the danger, placing the toddler at significant risk.
Authorities confirmed that the child was unharmed when found, and arrangements were made for their immediate safety following the discovery.

Vicker was booked into the Madison County Jail on Wednesday and placed on a $10,000 bond. She is expected to appear in court on Friday to face charges related to child endangerment and abandonment.
