Reality TV star Katie Price has shared a touching but heartbreaking video of her son Harvey Price, in which the 23-year-old can be heard calling out to his estranged father, Dwight Yorke.

The short clip, posted to Katie’s Instagram on Tuesday, shows Harvey wearing a Manchester United football shirt the club where Yorke once played while saying, “Oi Oi Yorkie.” The post was tagged with both Yorke’s handle and Manchester United’s official account.

A Long-Standing Rift Between Father and Son

Harvey, who was born in 2002, is Katie’s eldest child and the only son she shares with former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke, 53. He was born with autism, Prader-Willi syndrome, and septo-optic dysplasia, a rare condition affecting his eyesight and hormone production.

Since Harvey’s birth, Yorke has had little contact with his son. Katie, 47, has repeatedly spoken about her efforts to maintain a connection between father and son — but says her attempts have gone unanswered.

“My mum still contacts his manager every year and asks if Dwight wants to see Harvey for his birthday. It’s always the same – no,” Katie told The Guardian in 2023.

She added: “I just want Dwight to know what a gorgeous young man Harvey is. He has so much banter he’s just a funny little b***er. You never know what’s going to come out of his mouth.”

Dwight Yorke’s Past Statements on Fatherhood

In his 2009 autobiography Born to Score, Yorke expressed love for his son but also frustration with Katie, saying that public criticism of him as a father had been “deeply hurtful.”

“From the moment I set eyes on the little fella, I have loved my son like I could never have imagined possible,” he wrote.

He continued: “Over the years I have heard Katie saying how [Peter] Andre is Harvey’s dad and what a terrible, uncaring father I have been — all of which sticks in my throat. Maybe if she had not made life so difficult for me, I might have been able to take a far more proactive role.”

Despite these words, Katie said in interviews that Yorke’s involvement has been minimal.

“I think he’s seen Harvey about nine times in his life,” she told the Anything Goes podcast with James English earlier this year. “I’ve tried to send him pictures of Harvey on Instagram — Harvey playing the piano but he just ignores everything. The door’s always open. Always.”

Harvey’s Health and Recent Challenges

In recent years, Katie has spoken openly about Harvey’s health struggles, including his battle with obesity. In early 2024, she revealed that her son had started weight loss injections “to save his life,” after his weight reached nearly 30 stone.

The mother-of-five often shares updates on Harvey’s progress from his residential college, where he receives full-time support.

Katie has consistently praised Harvey’s spirit and personality. “He’s such a joy. He’s cheeky, loving, and full of energy he keeps me on my toes,” she said in a recent TikTok live.

Fans React to Heartfelt Video

Following the post, fans flooded Katie’s comment section with supportive messages. Many described the video as “heartbreaking,” while others called on Dwight Yorke to reconnect with his son.

“Harvey is such a beautiful soul — you can see the love in his eyes,” one follower wrote. Another commented: “Dwight, if you see this, please meet your son. He deserves that moment.”

Katie has not confirmed whether Dwight responded to the post, but sources close to the family told M10News that the video was “Katie’s way of keeping hope alive” for reconciliation.
