Kate Middleton is preparing to attend Wimbledon on Sunday, marking her second public appearance since revealing her battle with cancer earlier this year.

The Princess of Wales will be present at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London to watch the men’s singles final between Novak Djokovic and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, as confirmed by Kensington Palace.

Traditionally a fixture at Wimbledon, Middleton presents the winner’s trophy yearly. Her attendance this year was uncertain following her cancer diagnosis, but organizers expressed optimism earlier in the tournament that she would attend at least one match.

“We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority,” said Debbie Jevans, chair of the All England Club, to Telegraph Sport in June.

In her absence during Saturday’s women’s final, Middleton’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, have represented her at Wimbledon, attending the event twice this year, on July 4 and July 13.

Kate’s last public appearance was during the Trooping the Colour parade in June, where she appeared in a radiant white dress, her first outing since disclosing her cancer diagnosis. The princess revealed her health battle in March after undergoing abdominal surgery in January, showing that subsequent tests confirmed the presence of cancer.

“My medical team advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she disclosed, adding that the diagnosis was unexpected. The family gave their three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 – time to process the news before it was made public.

Throughout Kate’s health journey, Prince William has continued his royal duties, occasionally offering brief updates on her condition. “All doing well, yes, thank you. All are doing well,” he reassured a royal fan in May.

In a lighter moment last month, Prince William was seen enjoying himself at a Taylor Swift concert with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, dancing energetically to her famous song “Shake It Off.” The royal family later had the opportunity to meet the singer and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, backstage.

Kate Middleton’s presence at Wimbledon is anticipated with keen interest, underscoring her ongoing commitment to public duties amid her health challenges.
