Kanye West was at the centre of controversy after reportedly getting into an altercation at the upscale Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
Reports suggest that West got physical with one of the owners of the celebrity hotspot while allegedly attempting to defend his wife, Bianca Censori.
TMZ reported that West allegedly struck one of the twin brothers, Mark or Jonnie Houston, who are well-known restaurateurs.
However, it remains unclear which brother was on the receiving end of West’s actions.
Sources claimed that the altercation stemmed from one of the brothers accidentally bumping into Censori, contradicting West’s camp’s earlier claims.
West’s representative previously stated that the assailant had physically and sexually assaulted Censori, while TMZ’s source suggested that it was all a misunderstanding in the busy restaurant.
According to TMZ, West confronted the wrong twin, further complicating the situation.
Police sources have reportedly been unable to find evidence supporting West’s version of events.
In response to the report, West’s chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, expressed disgust at the lack of belief in Censori’s account of sexual assault.
He reiterated the claim that Censori was physically and se… assaulted, citing eyewitness testimony and video surveillance footage from the hotel.
Yiannopoulos doubled down on West’s stance, emphasizing the seriousness of the alleged assault and condemning any attempts to undermine it.
A second insider revealed that the hotel supports Censori, aligning with West’s side of the story.
However, representatives for Chateau Marmont have not commented on the incident.
West has reportedly been named as a suspect in a battery case related to the altercation, with the Los Angeles Police Department confirming an ongoing investigation.
This is not the first time West has been involved in such incidents, having previously faced charges in 2013 and being named a suspect in a separate case in 2023.
Despite the charges in the latter incident being dropped shortly after, West’s history with altercations adds complexity to the current situation.
