Kanye West has again faced backlash following his latest controversial social media post. The 47 rapper shared an image showing a Ku Klux Klan hood with the caption, “Outfit of the day.”
The post has intensified concerns about Kanye’s troubling online behavior, which has included previous remarks such as calling himself a “Nazi” and a controversial appearance at the Grammys alongside his wife, Bianca Censori, who wore an utterly transparent outfit on the red carpet.

Kanye’s latest post, shared on Instagram over the weekend, has been described as one of his most shocking yet. The image, resembling Ku Klux Klan robes, drew widespread condemnation. The Ku Klux Klan, founded in 1865 in Southern America, is a Christian extremist, white supremacist, and far-right hate group, widely recognized as America’s first terrorist group.

Despite repeated incidents, Kanye has faced limited repercussions from social media platforms. Frustrated fans have voiced concerns about his continued access to major platforms, and tech bosses have been criticized for failing to act.
This is not the first time Kanye has shared offensive content online. The rapper previously attempted to sell T-shirts emblazoned with a swastika and posted inflammatory statements on X (formerly Twitter) declaring, “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi.”
Critics have highlighted Kanye’s lack of accountability in the United States, contrasting it with the UK’s Online Safety Act, which criminalizes racially or religiously aggravated hate speech online. Some have argued that if Kanye’s actions had taken place in the UK, he could face legal consequences.
Legal experts have suggested Kanye’s language may not meet the California Department of Justice’s definition of hate speech, reducing the likelihood of prosecution. However, many believe this should not excuse his actions, especially given his massive influence.

Kanye’s behavior has sparked renewed calls for stricter intervention. Miss Prime, a social media user, demanded Kanye’s arrest for “incitement to hatred”, while another user, Chuck1, remarked, “Anybody else would have been arrested.”
Despite the controversy, Kanye’s social media presence remains largely intact. Kanye deactivated his X account earlier this year after a sensitive content warning was added to one of his posts. Kanye wrote in his final message before deactivating his account, “I’m logging out of Twitter… It was like an Ayahuasca trip.”
Critics have condemned X owner Elon Musk for failing to take permanent action against Kanye. Musk previously suspended Kanye in 2022 for “inciting violence” but later reinstated his account.
The Campaign Against Antisemitism has publicly urged Musk to remove KKanye’splatform, stating: “”t a time of unprecedented antisemitism, there can be no mistaking this incitement for exactly what it is.”
Actor David Schwimmer also condemned Kanye’s actions, highlighting the dangerous impact of his influence. He wrote: “”anye West has 32.7 million followers… His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.”

Schwimmer further warned that KKanye’sidentification as a “”azi”“threatens “”ll marginalized communities, including his own”” adding: “”ilence is complicity.”
Despite achieving massive success, including selling 100 million records and winning 24 Grammys, Kanye’s social media conduct continues to spark outrage. Critics warn that unless social media platforms take firm action, Kanye’s harmful rhetoric could cause real-world harm.
