Kanye West has dismissed the rumours that Taylor Swift was behind his departure from the Super Bowl, claiming he left on his own accord. The rapper, who attended the game with his wife, Bianca Censori, said he wanted to visit different friends and enjoy the event.

The speculation about Swift’s role in West’s exit was sparked by former NFL player Brandon Marshall, who alleged on his podcast that Swift had West removed from the stadium after he bought seats near her suite. Swift, dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, celebrated with him on the field after his team’s victory.

West, who has a long-standing feud with Swift since 2009, took to Instagram to refute Marshall’s claims and defend his new album Vultures, which features a reference to Swift.https://www.instagram.com/p/C3WTZcfIQYZ/?igsh=bmdhd2ZzYzMxY20z

He said he did not get kicked out of the Super Bowl and was “far more helpful to Taylor Swift’s career than harmful”. He also accused the media of controlling the narrative and thanked his fans for their support.

The controversy between West and Swift has continued for over a decade since West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The two seemed to reconcile in 2015, but their relationship soured again in 2016 when West released his song Famous, which included a derogatory line about Swift. Swift claimed she disapproved of the lyric, while West insisted she did.

The feud escalated further in 2020 when a leaked phone call between West and Swift revealed that West did not mention the specific word he used to describe Swift in his song. Swift accused West of being dishonest and manipulative, while West accused Swift of trying to sabotage his artistry and reputation.

The latest incident at the Super Bowl reignited public interest in the drama between the two stars, who have both been vocal about their political and social views.

West, who ran for president in 2020, has been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and has expressed controversial opinions on slavery, abortion, and mental health. Swift endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 and advocated for women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and racial justice.
