ABC News has categorically denied allegations that Vice President Kamala Harris received advance notice of questions for her debate with former President Donald Trump.

The network responded to the claims with a firm statement, asserting, “Absolutely not. Harris was not given any questions before the debate.”

The denial follows Trump’s claims of unfairness regarding the debate on Tuesday night in Philadelphia. Trump, who described the discussion as “unfair” and “rigged,” suggested that Harris seemed unusually prepared, telling Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” that her familiarity with the questions was suspicious.

ABC’s debate rules explicitly stated that “no topics or questions will be shared in advance with campaigns or candidates.” The network also confirmed that none of Harris’s aides had contact with debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis before the event.

In the aftermath of the debate, Trump criticised ABC and the moderators for their fact-checking efforts, calling the discussion a “three-on-one” situation. He argued that the moderators unfairly corrected him while failing to address similar issues with Harris.

Trump’s campaign has continued to contend that Harris received an unfair advantage during their first and potentially only presidential debate, further fuelling the ongoing discussion on the event’s fairness.
