Karl-Anthony Towns is making waves not just for his recent blockbuster trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the New York Knicks but also for stirring engagement speculation with his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods.
The buzz began when Woods showcased a stunning diamond ring on her finger in Instagram photos posted Thursday.
She wore a blue and orange Knicks sweatshirt and captioned the post with an orange heart emoji.
Fans quickly flooded the comments with questions about their relationship status, asking, “Are you engaged?” Others expressed admiration for the dazzling ring, including singer Jilly Anais, who commented, “Well damn,” while Sky All-Star rookie Angel Reese simply wrote, “Beautyyyy.”
The engagement rumours come after Towns addressed cheating allegations during a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast. “I’m coolin’, I’m good, life is good for me,” the 28-year-old said when Sharpe brought up a rumour about him dating someone besides Woods. “We both live in the public eye. We both have different things, different rumours that have been completely false.”
Towns emphasised their strong bond: “We know who we are to each other. We know what we stand for and the life we’re building. We ain’t worried about none of that.”
The couple, who celebrated four years together in May, recently purchased a $14 million home in Los Angeles. This week has been particularly significant for Towns, who was traded to the Knicks after nine seasons with the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves received centre Julius Randle and guard Donte DiVincenzo in the deal.
Towns debuted his new Knicks jersey, number 32, during training camp at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., on Thursday. The Knicks are scheduled to play a preseason game against the Hornets on Sunday and will kick off the 2024 season against the Celtics in Boston on October 22.
