Jordan Chiles Stuns in Black Bikini on Social Media, Resurfacing After Olympic Medal Controversy
Jordan Chiles is embracing some much-needed relaxation following the dramatic conclusion of the 2024 Olympics.
The 23-year-old American gymnast shared a series of Instagram photos on Tuesday, where she was seen lounging in a black bikini and sunglasses, captioning the post “Golden paradise.” The post garnered enthusiastic responses from her followers.
Chiles recently announced a temporary break from social media after facing controversy over her bronze medal in the floor exercise final on August 5. In that event, Romanian gymnasts Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea initially received scores of 13.700, with Barbosu securing third place due to a higher execution score. Chiles, who scored 13.666, was bumped to third with a revised score of 13.766 following a Team USA inquiry.
The inquiry led to a dispute between Team USA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ruled that the review was submitted past the one-minute deadline. Consequently, the International Olympic Committee instructed Chiles to return her bronze medal. However, as of August 15, USA Today Sports reported that Chiles still had the medal.
Chiles addressed the situation in an emotional social media post, describing it as “one of the most challenging moments of my career.” She expressed her disappointment: “This decision feels unjust and comes as a significant blow, not just to me, but to everyone who has championed my journey.” Chiles also condemned the racially driven attacks she received online, emphasizing her commitment to competing with integrity and sportsmanship.
Barbosu was later awarded the bronze medal for the floor exercise final. Despite the challenging end to her Olympic journey, Chiles is looking forward, particularly to the upcoming Gold Over America Tour alongside teammate Simone Biles, who has been a steadfast supporter.
Chiles promoted the tour on her Instagram Story. It is described as an “exhilarating display of jaw-dropping athleticism and high-energy choreography with an inspirational message of hope, strength, resilience, and determination.” The tour begins on September 16 in Oceanside, California, and will conclude in Detroit on November 3.
