Jennifer Lopez Firmly Addresses Rumors of Split with Ben Affleck During Public Appearance

Jennifer Lopez was recently confronted with rumours during an appearance in Mexico City that she had split from Ben Affleck.

The iconic singer, 54, was promoting her new Netflix film, Atlas, alongside actor Simu Liu when a journalist broached the topic of her marriage.

The reporter asked, “Is your divorce from Ben Affleck real? Are these rumours true? What is the truth? Para la press Mexicana, what is the truth of the situation?”

Liu quickly intervened, addressing the reporter’s overstep: “Okay, we’re not doing that. Thank you so much, guys. We appreciate it.

Thank you.” Visibly displeased, Lopez leaned forward and made eye contact with the press member, responding coldly, “You know better than that.”

Before ending the Q&A session, Liu took the opportunity to praise Lopez: “If I could just end on one thing, Jen is a producer on this movie and the reason why I am here and why Sterling [K. Brown] was in this beautiful movie because Jen cares. And Jen cares about things like representation and diversity, and she’s a boss.”

Lopez then said in Spanish, “Thank you. No one asked me anything in Spanish, but okay.” She seemed to shake off the awkward interaction, blowing a kiss at the crowd as they laughed.

The iconic couple, often referred to as Bennifer, first dated in the early 2000s, getting engaged in 2002 before calling it quits in 2004. They rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in 2022.

Recently, an insider told In Touch: “The writing is on the wall – it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!” The source added that Affleck is now focusing on his work and his kids and has moved out of the couple’s shared home.

The rumours align with reports that Lopez was recently spotted house hunting despite having bought a $60.85 million, 46,000-square-foot home with Affleck a year ago. “They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her.

There’s no way it could have lasted,” the source said of the supposed split.

Another insider alleged that Affleck feels as though he was “temporarily insane” over the last few years, describing them as a “fever dream.” “If there were a way to divorce on the grounds of temporary insanity, he would,” an insider claimed to Page Six.
