Jennifer Lopez is facing criticism for her behaviour at the Met Gala.

A viral TikTok video captured  USA Today reporter Anika Reed asking the “I’m Real” singer, “Who are you wearing tonight?” as Lopez ascended the grand staircase of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Lopez, who is 54 years old, briefly looked at Reed and said “Schiaparelli” before continuing up the stairs with the help of an aide. This brief exchange sparked numerous opinions on social media, with many users making sarcastic comments about Lopez’s response..

Some critics joked, “The definition of a ray of sunshine,” and “Such a sweetie,” while others facetiously described her as “kind,” “nice,” and “humble and down to earth.” However, some of Lopez’s fans defended her, albeit with a backhanded compliment, saying, “Jlo doesn’t mind being a b and I love that about her!”

An exclusive source revealed to Page Six that Lopez never intended to be curt. The insider explained that she was navigating the stairs in a restrictive dress while being bombarded with questions from numerous journalists. Lopez answered the question directly about her outfit designer because that was the query posed to her amid the chaotic scene.

Despite the minor controversy, Lopez garnered praise from fans for her stunning gown at the gala, adhering to the event’s “Garden of Time” dress code. Her custom-made Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress featured over 2,500,000 silver foil bugles and beads, requiring more than 800 hours of hand embroidery work.
