Jeffrey Epstein List: Names of High-Profile Individuals Revealed
A massive list of people connected to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is set to be made public in the coming days. This could lead to new information about Epstein’s and Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking network.
Epstein, a disgraced millionaire, had ties to high-profile personalities in politics, business, and aristocracy.
The court documents in a lawsuit linked to Maxwell were ordered to be unsealed by a judge. There are 187 mentions of “J Doe” in the court papers, and many of these will now be given their real names.
This disclosure may provide more insight into the extent of Epstein’s network and the people involved in his crimes.
Why are these names being made public?
The names of over 150 people linked to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are being made public as part of a settled lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend. Virginia Giuffre, one of Maxwell’s accusers, brought the defamation lawsuit, and the names were previously kept secret under a court-ordered seal. A judge in New York has now ruled that the words can come to light. Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison term for her crimes committed with Epstein.
What did the judge say about the names?
In her ruling, Judge Loretta Preska acknowledged that many of the individuals named in the lawsuit have already been publicly identified by the media or in Maxwell’s criminal trial. She also noted that many others did not object to the release of the documents.
However, some names on the list will remain sealed, including those belonging to child victims. Additionally, some individuals may have appeared more than once under different Doe numbers, so the exact number of names to emerge is unknown.
According to Holly Baltz, investigations editor at the Palm Beach Post, new details may be revealed even if the names on the list are already known. She said the documents may shed new light on the exact nature of the relationship between Epstein, Maxwell, and the individuals named in the lawsuit.
Whose names may be on the Epstein list?
The Epstein list is expected to include the names of more than 150 people associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. These people could be a mixture of those accused of wrongdoing, those making accusations, and others who were potential witnesses to crimes. The list could include employees of Epstein and people who visited his home or went on his private plane.
One notable name expected to be on the list is Prince Andrew. The court filings include 40 documents of evidence from a woman who has made accusations against the prince. Johanna Sjoberg, one of Epstein’s accusers, claimed that Prince Andrew groped her breast while sitting on a couch inside Epstein’s Manhattan apartment in 2001. Buckingham Palace has previously denied the allegations, calling them “categorically untrue”.
Last year, the prince settled a lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed that he sexually abused her when she was 17 years old. Prince Andrew denied her allegations, saying that he had never met her.
Will Bill Clinton be on the Epstein list?
According to ABC News, former US President Bill Clinton is mentioned more than 50 times in court documents. However, there is no implication of any illegality. Clinton travelled on Epstein’s plane on humanitarian trips to Africa in the early 2000s and, at the time, praised Epstein as a committed philanthropist. Clinton’s team previously stated that he cut ties with Epstein before the financier was investigated. They have also said that he knows nothing about Epstein’s crimes. Many of his mentions in these court filings relate to Ms Giuffre’s unsuccessful attempts to make the former president testify about his relationship with Epstein, says ABC.
Who is Jeffrey Epstein?
Jeffrey Epstein was a millionaire associated with high-profile figures such as Prince Andrew. He died in jail in 2019 while awaiting federal sex trafficking charges, and his death was ruled a suicide by the New York medical examiner. Epstein was accused of running a “vast network” of underage girls for sex, and he pleaded not guilty. A decade earlier, he had been convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor.
