In a daring raid, Israeli soldiers and Gaza medical workers captured 20 Hamas terrorists who were hiding inside a hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza, on Monday.
The soldiers received intelligence that the terrorists were using the Al-Amal Hospital as a base and coordinated with the staff to locate and arrest them without harming any civilians or medical equipment.
The hospital director, Dr. Ahmed Abu Nasser, praised the cooperation between the soldiers and the medical workers, saying they acted professionally and humanely.
“The IDF informed us that terrorists were hiding in our hospital, and we agreed to help them capture them peacefully,” he said. “We are not here to take sides in this war; we are here to save lives.”
After the operation, the soldiers helped deliver oxygen tanks to the hospital, which was struggling to cope with the casualties of the ongoing war.
The IDF said that this operation exposed the cynical use of hospitals by Hamas to shield its terrorists from Israeli attacks.
“Hamas is exploiting the humanitarian situation in Gaza to carry out its terrorist activities,” an IDF spokesperson said. “We will continue to target Hamas wherever they are while doing everything possible to protect the innocent civilians and the medical facilities in Gaza.”
