The Israeli military conducted airstrikes targeting Hezbollah locations in Lebanon on Sunday in response to Iran’s missile and drone attacks against Israel, as reported by Fox News.
According to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), the recent Israeli airstrikes focused on a Hezbollah weapons manufacturing facility and other related targets.
Specific locations hit included a complex belonging to Hezbollah’s Radwan Forces in the Jbaa area of southern Lebanon, as well as Hezbollah military structures in Khiam and Kfarkela.
Despite these strikes, Israel has not directly targeted Iran in retaliation for the recent attack, leaving their future response plans uncertain.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously stated his intent to respond in kind to any Iranian aggression.
President Biden has reportedly advised Israel against immediate retaliation, citing the effectiveness of their air defences in neutralising a significant portion of Iran’s missiles and drones.
During a Saturday night call with Netanyahu, Biden reaffirmed the United States’ support for Israel.
The situation remains tense as Israel assesses its response options and considers international advice in the aftermath of the recent attacks.
Continued monitoring of developments in the region is crucial as tensions between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah persist.
