The Irish infamous gang leader, Mr Flashy, now finds himself behind bars as Gardaí makes a significant move in connection to a suspected arms haul. M10news confirms that Mr Flashy, a prominent Dublin criminal, and a close associate are in custody at a Dublin Garda station.
This arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged seizure of firearms and ammunition in the city nearly two years ago.
The apprehension follows the seizure of a deadly Ingram machine pistol, an assault rifle, ammunition, and a substantial €47,000 in cash during a crackdown on gangland crime in February 2022. Today, Mr Flashy, aged 30, and his associate in his early 20s, were arrested in Finglas, north Dublin, during a dawn raid conducted by heavily armed ERU officers.
Both individuals are being held in a west Dublin Garda station on suspicion of possessing firearms, with the possibility of detention for up to three days under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939. A Garda spokesman stated, “Investigations are ongoing.”
Gardaí are reportedly consulting with the Director of Public Prosecutions about potential charges against Mr. Flashy, considered one of Dublin’s most dangerous criminals. However, it’s emphasized that any decision on charges rests with the DPP and is beyond the control of the Gardaí.
The initial seizure in February 2022 targeted the Flashy mob, known for terrorizing Finglas and controlling a significant portion of the drug trade in Dublin. The raid included a property linked to the gang, later returned to the local authority, which served as their headquarters for drug deals and parties. This property, along with eight others, was raided during the operation, leading to the confiscation of two guns, 300 rounds of suspected ammunition, and over €47,000 in cash.
These actions were part of a more extensive operation prompted by feud-related incidents involving Flashy’s gang clashing with a rival faction. The recent arrest occurs amid heightened tensions in west Dublin following a Christmas Eve attack in Blanchardstown that claimed two lives, including Tristan Sherry, formerly associated with Flashy. Two men have been charged with Sherry’s murder, and another victim of the attack, Jason Hennessy senior, passed away recently, with both funerals expected in the coming days, prompting a significant security operation by the Gardaí.
